Sweet Magnolia Tours Owner Dawn Evans Asked to Join BBB of Middle Tennessee, Inc Board of Directors
Nashville, TN — The Better Business Bureau of Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky has requested Dawn Evans, owner of Sweet Magnolia Tours, to serve as a member on their Board of Directors.
Each year, The Better Business Bureau’s (BBB) nominating committee recommend outstanding business leaders in their communities. Those who are selected and make it onto the Board of Directors act on behalf of the company. They visit business owners and managers to impart ethics into the workplace where both consumer and buyers can work harmoniously through an Accreditation process.
“It is an honor to have the opportunity to serve on the Board of the Better Business Bureau,” said Dawn Evans, owner of Sweet Magnolia Tours. “I am a firm believer in business ethics. As a business owner for over 28 years now, I know the ups and downs and have a strong appreciation for integrity and hard work. More specifically, I love this town.”
The choice to add Evans was appropriate considering her hard work as a business owner, but also her unique connection to the story of Music City. “Coming from a family with deep roots in Nashville that helped build this city’s music industry story, I take pride in doing my part to carry on the strong business ethics and legacy in continuing to grow this awesome city,” continued Evans.
Evans’ connection to the city’s musical culture started with her grandfather, Jim Denny, who worked as a promoter and developer for musical talent. His contribution to the industry, in the 50s and 60s, was so significant that it directly impacted the growth of country music. Denny was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1966 for his contributions.
Additionally, Evans’ father was a long-serving member on the Board of Directors for the Country Music Association and was recently awarded the J. William Denny Award. The award was created in December of 2016. CMA thought it would be befitting to give the first to its namesake for his “distinguished service, and meritorious contributions.”
Evans will begin serving on the BBB board January 23rd, 2019 where she will serve a three-year term.
