Did you know that over 600,000 people call Nashville, Tennessee home? This Middle-Tennessee city is currently the 25th-largest city in the nation and continues to grow every year. Music City USA is probably best known for country music, which has branded Nashville as a tourist destination for music lovers.
Millions of people flock to Nashville yearly to experience the city and to attend events like the CMA Music Festival. When tourists come to Nashville, they often don’t get to experience the “real Nashville” as locals see it. There’s the Honky Tonks on Broadway, Grand Ole’ Opry and the Ryman, and while those place are incredible, there’s so much more to the city to explore

Nashville Nightlife
The first stop on most people’s list when they visit Nashville is Broadway Street. This is the center of live country music in Nashville and home to many of the most well-known Honky Tonks in the world, including Tootsies Orchid Lounge. These Honky Tonks are a hot spot for live music, but it’s not where you will typically catch the locals hanging out.
However, you will see locals gathering on Broadway, but most likely you’ll see them drinking a pint at Acme Feed & Seed. Other places you’re sure to catch the locals is the 12th South Taproom in 12th South, Red Door in Midtown and 3 Crow Bar in East Nashville’s 5 Points.

Hungry in Nashville? You’re in luck! Music City has some of the best restaurants in the South. There are many “tourist traps” in Nashville, but if you want to eat where the locals eat, make sure you try some, one or all of these restaurants:

Almost every Nashvillian will tell you they’ve made at least a couple trips to Radnor Lake State Park for a day of hiking. This state park has great walking trails and some of the best views of the city. On a sunny day in Nashville, you can also find locals lounging on a blanket in one of the city’s many parks such as Centennial Park. Other places you’ll find locals gathering are at the Nashville Predators and Titan’s games.
