Package Details
The town of Tunica is a fine example of an old southern railroad town. All of the town’s commerce centered on the train depot and commissaries built to service the travelers and railroad employees. You will enjoy seeing this quaint little town with its antique and specialty food stores, a cozy ice cream parlor and historic sites. In the historic areas, you will see the Tate Log House, built in 1840, the Tunica County Courthouse, and the beautiful Veteran’s Memorial.
When you’re in the Delta you must try a true Southern favorite, Fried Green Tomatoes and Fried Dill Pickles! Lunch today will be at the Hollywood Cafe, a fixture in Tunica since 1969. John Grisham was a regular long before he became a famous author, and he mentioned The Hollywood Cafe several times in his best-seller “A Time to Kill.” Marc Cohn, a singer and songwriter, immortalized The Hollywood Cafe in his award winning song “Walking in Memphis.”
